About Hansel
Hansel is a pied pure bred French bulldog. He is a sweet little man who is just a baby. Hansel was surrendered as he has a major heart condition. He has had a diagnosis made by the cardiologist but we are not progressing to surgery. We have fund raised but were unable to get even close to the sum required. He currently needs no medication and has no clinical signs of cardiac disease.
He will never be far from you and would make an excellent companion for the time he has.
The cardiologist has given him months to years. Like all of us life is a box of chocolates, you are never sure what you will get so enjoy each one♥️
He is great with:
People- children and elderly
Cats
Dogs
He is very well socialised and has been learning to sit and stay.
Hes a cuddly lover.
Medical notes
Hansel has severe pulmonic stenosis -a heart condition.
He has been evaluated by the cardiac specialist and we can send the report to your vet. He can have surgery but the surgery is expensive and we could not fundraiser enough to have it completed.
He had no issues during his castration surgery so that is a positive.
He is a brachycephalic breed. All suffer from BOAS in some way, either minor or severe. They are always at risk of boas ( brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome)becoming clinical- creating difficulty breathing. We expect you to have a complete understanding of the condition and discuss the potential surgical, environmental and medical modifications you may have to do for this condition with your vet before you apply for this dog. It is also a excellent idea to take advantage of the trial period to have your vet check over the dog and give you more pointers on this breed related issue and the expectations for their care and management.
