About Bindi
Well hello there! My name is Bindi and I'm a pretty special girl looking for a pretty special home. I've been at the RSPCA for a little while now and it's finally time for me to find a family to call my own. Being a bengal, I come with certain breed traits that definitely aren't for a first time cat owner. I can be quite vocal, so if you've got close neighbours you might want to warn them- I have a voice on me! I'm also quite smart and need quite a bit of mental stimulation too. This can include things like changing up how you give me my food every day, and playing with me regularly. I have also been exposed to cat flu, if you notice me sneezing I might need a quick trip to the vet to get some antibiotics to help me out.
I have always been a little more on the shy side, luckily I got to go out to a foster home to experience what life out of the shelter is like. I worked on my socialisation a lot and I'm finally feeling comfortable enough to approach and maybe even sit on your lap. It has taken me a little while to get here so don't feel bad if we don't have an instant connection right away; sometimes these things take time.
I do have a couple of tips for you to help me settle in to my new home:
-spray some feliway on my bed and any place I'll be spending a lot of time in (feliway is a pheromone that will help me feel calmer)
-make sure I have an enclosed bed, somewhere I can retreat to if I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed
-give me lots of treats! I LOVE treats and that's a good way that I'll become your friend
-let me stay in my own room while I'm settling in, somewhere that's nice and quiet for me so I don't have too much going on when I'm trying to relax
-give me time. I'm still a bit unsure and with a lot of changes I'll probably be a bit stressed again, but giving me time and patience will really help me out the most
I'm a very sweet and friendly girl when I get to know you, I am a very big smooch and I LOOOOVE playing with all sorts of toys (wand toys are my favourite though!)- please make sure you have some for me at home! I do also love scratchers and getting up nice and high to have a good view of my kingdom, so having one of these is a must! And finally, my absolute, definite favourite thing in the world is catnip! I am not currently in the shelter as I am being spoilt in a lovely foster home. To find out more about me, please contact sydneyfostercare@rspcansw.org.au or call 9770 7503.
I can't wait to meet you!
Lots of love, Bindi xx
