About Buddy *On Trial*
*buddy is currently trialling his new home* lil’ buddy-boy is one of 5 healthy, happy puppies who were born on 25 november 2010. The pups were surrendered to rural rescue from hay in nsw where they were about to be put to sleep. Rural rescue then asked sarg to help with their rehousing so we took on 3 of the cuties. Their mum is a purebred labrador and their dad is a neighbouring working kelpie who happened to jump the fence when the lab was on heat…she has now been desexed so it won’t be happening again!
cute little buddy is the trickster of the 3 pups – he’s always up for some fun and runs circles around his brother and sister, must be the kelpie shining through!! \ he loves cuddles and smooches and being the centre of attention. Not an overly yappy pup, buddy is still the most vocal of them all and is confident with “telling off” the adult dogs when life doesn’t quite go his way. Buddy will happily play for hours on end with any animal or human who will give him the time of day before collapsing in a heap for a well deserved puppy nap. Buddy is proving to be extremely intelligent, picking up basic commands quickly – it certainly helps that he’s very food orientated! one look at buddy’s gorgeous puppy face and you’ll be hooked!!
all of the pups get along well with their carers other dogs both big and small as well as the family cat and their very patient miniature horse whose lovely long tail seems to be a major attraction for the playful pups. They’re well behaved around the chooks and are used to being handled by adults as well as children making them pretty much “bomb proof”. Buddy is the smallest of the 3 pups and appears to have thrown more towards his kelpie father in looks so we reckon he’ll be the size of a large kelpie when he’s fully grown. While in care buddy will learn the basics such as “sit” and “down” and as he’s only a young pup he will require ongoing obedience training as well as socialisation with other dogs so he grows up to have lovely manners! \ daily walks, secure fencing, bones to chew on and toys to keep him stimulated are also a necessity so he doesn’t get bored and up to mischief
buddy would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a doggie companion to learn from or on his own but only if he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially while he’s a pup. If you think you’ve got the time, patience and love to bring up adorable buddy then please contact sarg for an application now!!
