Beautiful Ariel is a sable, long stock coat German Shepherd. Ariel was found as a stray, no-one ever came to claim her, she found herself homeless and, in the pound, all before the age of 1. Ariel has been spending some time in foster care over the last few weeks and has come such a long way, she is now ready to find a forever home of her very own.
Ariel is a sweet girl that can be a little shy at first, once she trusts you and feels safe, she is an absolute cuddle bug, tummy scratches and chest rubs are her favourite. In the pound Ariel was described as jumpy and mouthy, however once in a home environment in foster care she has been calm and greets everyone with beautiful manners. Ariel has spent time with young children and has been great with them under supervision, she may be suited to living with dog savvy children in her new home.
Ariel is very clever and likes to learn new things, she is very food motivated and is happy engaging with her people in training, you can see her mind working away trying to work out how to please you. Ariel still has plenty to learn and would do well with further obedience training to fine-tune her skills. Ariel is crate trained and toilet trained.
It is clear that Ariel has lived a very sheltered life, likely not ever leaving her backyard, walks in public are a new thing for Ariel and something she is still getting used to. Ariel pulls on lead but is easily managed on a harness, she is curious about the world around her and is lacking in life experience. Ariel needs someone patient who is willing to slowly expose Ariel to the outside world and how to be a dog, she is enjoying her walks in secluded areas and will need to build her confidence up overtime.
Ariel is a typical pup that likes to get into anything and everything. She needs to be given plenty of mental stimulation and enrichment to ensure she keeps out of mischief, she loves ripping up cardboard boxes and ‘de-squeaking’ toys, a couch cushion may have also accidentally exploded once… Ariel would love to be given stimulating games and puzzles such as kongs, hide and seek games, licky mats and other treat dispensing toys, anything where she can put her clever mind to use. Providing dogs with enrichment not only keeps them stimulated but also helps build up their confidence by developing the ability to problem solve.
Ariel is an active girl and will need plenty of exercise in her new home, she has finally learned how great toys and a ball can be and enjoys a game of fetch.
Ariel hasn’t had a lot of exposure with dogs, she is currently in foster care with 3 other German Shepherds and enjoys their company. Ariel has also met a few other dogs, she is keen to interact and play however doesn’t have the best doggy manners when she first meets others and is quite rude, nipping and barking at them to play. Ariel is not aggressive by any means; she is just very inexperienced and finds herself being told off by other dogs. Ariel would love to live with a large-breed male dog, a calm, older dog that will be confident enough to tell Ariel off without escalating or becoming stressed by her puppy antics would be most suitable, she would also likely be ok on her own.
Ariel likes to chase cats when they run, we are looking for a home without cats or other small animals.
Ariel is a gorgeous girl that has so much potential, she wants to learn and be a good girl, but needs someone with lots of patience and time to build her confidence and introduce her to the big wide world. We know that in the right hands, our girl will become the most amazing companion, she is a real sweetheart.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
