About Nico
The very handsome Nico is searching for a special type of home, one that can tap into his maremma side and provide him a safe and secure household.
This sweet natured boy has been raised in foster care and unfortunately has shown that his perfect fit is a home as a very loved and spoiled only dog. He isn't looking for a working type maremma home but would happily adjust to a home on a few acres or something a little more secluded. A little hobby farm situation would be perfect however he may suit a suburban setting with the right family.
He has been raised with cats, livestock and poultry via fencing and shows to be well mannered and respectful. With time and boundaries he could adjust to a home with free range chickens.
He hasn't met any young kids whilst being in care but may suit living with kids who are dog savvy and over the age of 5.
Nico is crate trained, toilet trained and has good manners inside. Showing no destruction within the house or ill manners around food and bench tops. His new home would allow him inside to be close to his family and have a cuddle or two. He would happily sleep in a crate at night or on a dog bed if required; he hasn't slept outside at any stage of his life so would unlikely adjust to this.
He hasn't shown any tendencies to escape fencing and would adjust to rural fencing once he is settled within his new home.
Nico has some good basic obedience, leash skills and recall manners and loves travelling in the car even to join you on errands.
His new home will understand that although in time he may cope with interactions with other dogs; he isn't looking for a home that wants him to interact and socialise with vast arrays of random dogs out and about and would do best being an ONLY dog.
Nico is located in the lower hunter valley and is ready to start chatting to potential home candidates. He hopes he can find a loving and relaxed fit soon.
Adoption details
In the ENQUIRY SECTION please explain in LENGTH some basics about yourself/ your life/ your household and what type of life you can provide for one of our rescue animals.
If successful, you would be contacted by phone, where we will talk about your enquiry and potentially organise a meet and greet between you/ your dogs/ your family and the potential candidate
From there, you can either take your animal with you if the meet and greet was successful and their vet work has been completed- or if the vet work hasn't been completed, you must wait until it's finished before taking your new friend home which will be organised between yourself and the foster carer.
Every animal has a 2 week trial period.
