About Anna - Assisted Rehome 🌼
Anna is a kind natured girl. She can be nervous and shy to see you at first but be patient and she soon is laying on her back for tummy rubs. She is Wolfhound cross weighing in at 22 kilos but I would still consider her to be large. She has been with our family since she was approximately 12 weeks old and was raised with my girls when they were toddlers.
We are regretfully rehoming her after we moved to a property with inadequate fencing. Anna is enthusiastic and sometimes doesn't realise her size and strength.
TRAVEL IN THE CAR
Anna doesn't have much experience in the car but she loves to ride co-pilot. She was a little nervous at first but with a reassuring pat and kind words she settles down and is comfortable.
FOOD
Anna has been having a diet of Dry Ivory Coat Grain Free Salmon and Ocean Fish food and has no trouble eating it up. I tried to refrain from feeding her food scraps but she would occasionally get a marrow bone.
OUTSIDE
Anna has always been an outside dog including when she sleeps. She loves to have a large yard to roam.
VISITORS
Anna will be timid and submissive when first meeting someone new and she may even wee herself. She quickly warms up if you're quiet and get down to her level.
Anna loves kids but can be to enthusiastic and may jump without knowing her own strength. She loves playing with other dogs, but maybe to enthusiastic for smaller breeds. I would keep her away from smaller animals as she likes to charge after them.
ENRICHMENT
Anna likes to have a yard to roam. We live on property currently so she likes to go on walks/runs through the paddock and jump in the dams. When in the yard she is happy to lay in the sun but we occasionally catch her entertaining herself with a tug rope or her favourite stuffed frog toy.
INDEPENDENCE
Anna is happy to stay at home outside the entire day. She sleeps on a cushion on the deck but it has to be taken away during the day otherwise she will chew it apart. At our old house she slept under a tree. We tried to train her to use a dog kennel/house but she was never interested. She has always been the lone dog of our household but I wouldn't be surprised if she fit in a home with other dogs. She always socialised well on doggy play dates.
WALKS
I've struggled training Anna on a lead. Maybe with further training someone would have better luck. When running on the property she goes off on her own but always knows to return to you.
OBEDIENCE
Anna can sit and stay on command for her meals. She is eager to please and would be a fast learner. With time and training, she will be an amazing dog. She wants to please you and she loves attention.
DOG SOCIALIZATION
Since we've had her Anna has been the only dog in our care. She enjoys playing with other dogs her size. She can be too enthusiastic with smaller dogs and doesn't know her own strength. She likes to chase so she'll go after cats, ducks, chickens, etc.
TOILETING
Anna hasn't been house trained. Outside all toileting has been on the grass and never on the concrete.
IDEAL HOME
We believe Anna deserves a home with a yard to run and play in and an outside spot to stay dry and warm. She would really thrive on a property or farm.
A home with a secure yard is important because she can jump low gates and fencing.
Anna is fine to be left at home while her family are at work. She would probably get along with another dog to keep her entertained.
She is okay with small children if she is on a lead, otherwise she'll jump up. It would be prefered if she settles in a home with school age children who are dog experienced. An active family who would devote time to continue her training and socialisation.
Anna is located in Wyee on the Central Coast NSW and available to adopt now via Assisted Rehome.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
