About Patch 35253
-Open to meet children 12 years +
-Best As Only Dog
-Ongoing Training Required
-Approx. 33kgs
Patch is a handsome and sensitive older gentleman looking for a home. He is a 10-year-old Aussie Cattle Dog with a heart full of love and a gentle soul. If you have experience owning dogs before, we believe he could make the perfect match for you!
While he enjoys the company of children, he would be most comfortable with kids aged 12 years and up who are dog-savvy and know how to interact respectfully with a dog like Patch. As an older dog, he’ll appreciate a calm and understanding environment where he can build his confidence and feel secure.
Patch would prefer to be the only dog in the household. He will thrive in an environment where he can receive undivided attention and be the centre of your world. A medium to large yard, with high secure fencing, would be fantastic for him, as I do require regular exercise to keep him happy and healthy. Daily walks and some post-adoption training would be greatly beneficial for him, whether it's at home or through one-on-one sessions with a professional.
Patch is an independent fellow, but can be a little timid at first. However, once he feels comfortable and his confidence grows, he will be your loyal friend for life. He enjoys his own company and can happily chill out when left alone, but he does adore spending quality time with his humans. He’s not really into toys, but personal playtime and interaction with people is where the fun truly lies for him.
When it comes to treats, count him in! He is highly motivated by tasty rewards, making training sessions a breeze. He already knows some basic commands like "sit" and "shake," but he can tend to jump up when excited. Some additional training and consistency will help him understand what's expected of him.
Despite his age, Patch still has plenty of energy left in him. He enjoys going on walks, exploring the great outdoors, and discovering new scents and sights. It keeps him content and fulfilled.
If you're seeking a sensitive and loving companion who will cherish your company, then Patch might just be the dog for you.
