About Mango
No matter where she goes, Mango is admired by all. Everyone comments on how pretty she is, and she really does have a uniquely beautiful set of markings. To match her good looks, Mango has a lovely temperament. She is extremely sweet and loving in nature, always willing to please you. Mango loves getting pats and cuddles and will sometimes roll around in happiness when she gets attention. She is a very social dog with all people that she meets, and she greets visitors with a waggy tail.
Mango is equally as friendly with other dogs. She loves to run around playing with her doggie friends and she has good play style that incorporates regular pauses. Mango has the cutest play bow which she uses to initiate play with other dogs. As much as she is good with others, we feel a dog park environment would not be the best match for her at this stage so it will be important that her new family know some other suitable dogs that she can have playdates with. Mango could live with another doggie friend or as an only dog (as long as she got her regular playdates).
We were fortunate enough to be able to save Mango from euthanasia in an overcrowded rural pound just in time. She was originally found by people tied to a tree in bushland and she was quite underweight. She is now 21kg and a perfect weight. Mango is an active dog who will require daily exercise throughout her life to keep her happy and healthy. She copes well being introduced to new environments and experiences so will make a wonderful dog to go on trips or adventures with.
Mango is a very clever dog who learns things quickly. She is very responsive to verbal cues and is food motivated. Mango knows how to sit and drop for a treat and is building up her stays to longer times. She can be excited on lead but walks beautifully with the use of a halti. Mango also enjoys a run around the park on a long lead (10m) and is demonstrating pretty good early recall in this environment. She can become overstimulated by the sounds of balls being kicked and frustrated on lead if she can see other dogs running around off-lead playing without her! These things are easily circumvented by walking her on a normal lead around suburban streets instead of around parks, giving her regular playdates with other dogs and doing on lead walks with doggie friends, and giving her time on the long lead while playing engagement games with her. It would be ideal for her new owners to join up to some group training classes to build a strong human-dog bond and enhance her basic obedience as she shows so much potential.
At home, Mango has good manners in the house. She knows not to get on the furniture (at least when you are there!) and is happy to curl up on her bed at your feet. Mango is being crate trained in her foster home. She has been learning to settle in her crate when left and will sleep in her crate overnight without a peep. Mango travels well in the car and loves to be taken along on outings.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Mango where she will be a loved member of the family and included in the daily activities. She will need a home where her owners are around more often than not, at least during the transitional period to help her settle into new routine. Mango will need a home with a well fenced yard and where she is welcome inside to be with the family. She will also need a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night. Mango is fine to live with dog savvy children or older children who can participate in her basic training or would enjoy teaching her tricks. Everyone that meets this girl loves her and she will bring a lot of joy and happiness to her new home.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
