About Melly
This is Melly, a very sweet, gentle and smoochy kelpie girl.
Melly is confident around humans, adores cuddles and thinks of herself as a bit of a lap dog!. She loves the car – being in the car and anything to do with the car. She’s a traveller at heart.
Toilet trained and happy to use a doggy door to take herself outside, Melly will sit and wait patiently for food until she is given the signal that it’s ok to eat. She loves going for walks and is great on a lead.
Melly needs a slow and calm introduction to other dogs as she can be a little overwhelmed with sudden and very active interactions. She also came into foster care with a fear of the dark, but she is responding well to behavioural training in this area.
With the usual Kelpie pup energy, Melly would thrive in a home that understands working breeds and their need for both physical and mental stimulation, and where someone is home more often than not. She can be easily excited and still has a tendency to jump up on humans, so she would not be suitable for very young children at this stage. She is tolerant of cats as long as they don’t run!
She will need ongoing training and a secure yard with six-foot fences. She will also benefit from continued exposure to a variety of social settings, but she is a confident, loving girl who learns quickly to adapt to a range of situations through play and positive reinforcement.
Melly is a gorgeous girl who will give some lucky person lots of Kelpie love and loyalty. If you are able to commit to engaging her intelligence and boundless energy, you will be rewarded with all the benefits that come with a lifelong Kelpie friend.
Melly is located in VIC.
