About Lassy
Introducing Lassy! Lassy is a Cavoodle born on 29th September 2021.
Lassy was surrendered to us by her owner who was going to use her for breeding, however when she had her first litter of puppies he didn't feel she was "motherly" enough & didn't want to keep her if she wasn't going to be a good breeder.
As she was going to be used for breeding only, she was not an inside dog & her surrender profile states she isn't house trained. It also says she's had no obedience training & she isn't outgoing & confident. We have noticed this at the facility & we have begun working with her to help build her trust with humans. She gets scared of loud noises & fast movements and she freezes & winces when touched. For this reason we are recommending a home with no children.
Lassy tested well with other dogs, but she was mostly unfazed. While she could live with a doggy friend, she had no interest in socialising with them. She was tested with male, female, large & small dogs. If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them before going home to ensure they get along.
During her testing Lassy appeared unfazed by cats & pocket pets through a cage, however she was quite intrigued when one of our cats hissed at her. No aggression was shown, but she may chase them if they run freely in front of her.
Lassy has shown no signs of food aggression towards humans, however she has shown mild signs of separation anxiety when left alone. This isn't shown at all times but it has happened when the people she's comfortable with leave her. We didn't notice barking, howling or destruction but more she appeared stressed & uncomfortable with her surroundings.
Lassy's adoption fee is $800 and includes her desexing, lifetime registration & current vaccination. Lassy is also regularly treated for flea and worms.

Lassy is located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
