About Bear
Bear (affectionately nicknamed Ringo due to his gorgeous dingo-esque ears) is the world's best cuddle machine. He has had many moves and took a while to settle, but has found himself with some great foster carers that have been able to give him the time and patience he needed to shine.
When he first arrived he was quite stressed, anxious and needy, but now that he has had time to decompress he is super sweet and affectionate; he loves to be with you and to follow you from room to room, getting a pat where and whenever possible, and if you sit down, he likes to be on your knee.
He's a quick learner - he has gone from being under your feet and in your personal space at all times, to understanding that the kitchen is not the place for pats, and when the humans are eating it's time to lie down nearby and be patient (because you might be lucky enough to get a little reward once they're done) - all in a few weeks.
He sleeps well in a crate or separate room of a night, but has also been keeping his foster carers warm from time to time because they just love his cuddles so much!
Bear would be best as an only dog and wouldn't suit visits to the dog park. He hasn't shown signs of aggression but is very dominant, and gets in the face of other dogs, which they can find unsettling. Bear has been walked on a halti with good results, but gets excited and tricky to redirect when passing other dogs.
Bear is currently in a foster home where the carer works from home and he enjoys the company, you can see in the video him having a big play after a day of watching his carer work in the office. He is learning how to sit quietly in the office with the occasional pat while his carer works.
You'll always feel the love when you come home to Bear, as his wriggling bottom and wagging tail tells you how excited he is to see you.
WHAT BEAR NEEDS IN HIS NEW HOME
- People home majority of the time.
- Someone willing and able to give lots of pats
- Someone willing to continue with crate training as this can be a great management tool.
- NO cats.
- The possibility of attending dog training classes to help him learn to be calm around other dogs.
- To go for daily walks on lead
- No other resident dogs and not suited to dog parks.
- A yard would be ideal as Bear loves to run lead free, however not essential, he has been fine in the small courtyard in his foster house

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet. We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
