About Syd (aka Sydney)
Assisted Rehome
Gorgeous Syd (Sydney) is an 8 year old Staffy/Cattle dog mix whose current owner has had to make the hard decision to rehome him due to being unable to find suitable accommodation after the floods.
Some information from his mum:-
“””Syd is an amazing companion, is very good with kids, everyone he meets loves him, he is well house trained, has been the perfect office dog and is an excellent guard dog - he always lets us know if there are unusual sounds outside. Syd will sleep outside but prefers to be with his humans, so a family that allow him inside will be preferable. He will need a well fenced backyard to keep him safe. Syd does have some anxiety when left alone and at times if in an uncertain situations. Syd was vet checked and is now on a low dose of prozac, which is given to him when needed. If his humans are around a lot his anxiety is greatly decreased. In my previous home he would happily stay in the backyard with no one home, he couldn’t jump the fence so he would just sleep and chases lizards/flies. He does need a well-fenced backyard. If there is someone with property that is well contained and owners that are home often that would be perfect. He has a lot of energy to burn and loves to run. We like to let him socialise with other dogs if they aren’t dominant or aggressive. Syd will react to a dog that is territorial or aggressive. He is great with most dogs, it just depends on their temperament. If I can find him a happy home where all his needs are met better than I can provide him at the moment, then I know it’s the right thing to do.”””
Syd is located in Ballina. Please contact his mum for further information.

Adoption details
***Our aim is to find the best homes for our dogs and pups, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest***
If you could answer the following questions and provide as much information about your family, work, home life so we can best match up these pooches to the right family. Thanks so much.
* Current pets? If so, details.
* Children? If so, details
* Rent or own your home? Written agreement is required by your landlord/real estate for rental properties outlining that dogs are allowed. Our dogs and pups will only be adopted to homes where they are allowed inside to be part of the family. Real Estate approvals must state that this is permitted.
* Opportunities for socialization outside the home? Whilst some of our dogs are best in only dog homes, most of our dogs have been provided with lots of socialisation and will need this to be ongoing.
* Work commitments? How long will the dog be on their own?
* Why do you think this breed will be suitable for you? Breed type experienced owners will generally be given priority.
* Will you allow this pooch to live both inside and outside as part of the family?
* Yard check will be done to confirm you have a fully fenced secure yard and adequate shelter when the dog or pup is outdoors.
Wally's Doggie Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family. He/she will be desexed,1st and 2nd vaccination, microchiped, wormed and flea treated regularly and a health check done by our vet .
