Clare is a shy and sensitive dog looking for a loving forever home. If you're someone who understands the needs of a timid dog then Clare may be the dog for you!
As a shy dog, Clare will thrive in calm and quiet environment, so a home that provides a serene atmosphere would be ideal. She is looking for an owner who has experience with dogs and knows how to interact with shy and less confident canines. Patience, understanding, and a gentle approach are key qualities that will help her blossom into a well-rounded confident dog.
While Clare may be a bit reserved at first, she is open to meeting children who are at least 10 years old. Their gentle and understanding nature can help her feel more comfortable and secure. Once Clare becomes comfortable around you, she transforms into an affectionate and loving girl. Cuddles and butt scratches are some of her favourite things!
Clare would also benefit from post-adoption training, such as at-home or one-on-one training sessions. This will help boost her confidence and allow her to focus on developing good manners and social skills. Keep in mind that building her confidence is an ongoing process, so having an owner who understands this and is willing to work with her would be ideal.
It's important for her new home to allow her free access to both indoors and outdoors so that she can explore and find her safe spaces. Clare would need a medium-sized yard with high secure fencing. This will give her the chance and freedom to explore and play at her own pace. In terms of exercise, Clare is a moderately active dog and would benefit from daily walks. This will not only keep her physically stimulated but will also provide mental stimulation.
She already knows how to sit & shake and is not afraid to show off her neat tricks and she shows interest in learning more! She is food motivated and will take treats gently. She also has a soft spot for tennis balls and rope toy.
If you believe you can provide the calm and loving home that Clare needs then please submit an Expression of Interest.
