About Sasha
Sasha is a beautiful black miniature Poodle cross Cocker Spaniel aged 9 years. She is just a gorgeous girl and is looking for the perfect home.
She came into our care when her devoted owner could no longer care for her due to some health issues. We are delighted to be able to find her a loving home on behalf of her caring owner.
Sasha is very accustomed to going to the groomers and knows the drill! She has a very, very thick poodle coat which requires daily maintenance (brushing) and a professional groom every 6 weeks. Her coat does not have to be kept long, but as it is winter we have not had it clipped short. She also wears a coat in the cold weather, loves to cuddle up on the lounge, or simply snuggle in her warm bed, during the day. She is house trained and is very clean inside the home.
Sasha loves to run and play and needs a medium sized yard that she can comfortably run around in. She requires secure gates and fencing (preferably colourbond) to keep her safe and secure.
Please do not apply for this dog simply because she is a poodle and you have allergies. She does shed hair!!! Most dogs do.
Sasha will only be permitted to go to a home where there is another poodle, or the new owner has had poodles previously. This breed is very high maintenance, and needs an owner who is prepared to commit to keeping her groomed regularly.
She loves going for her daily walks (two half hours are sufficient) and walks extremely well on lead, although she does like to have a good sniff around! She has a big bagful of toys that she will pay with when the mood takes her. She is good around the other dogs in the home, but does like to be the No.1. if she can. She just loves cuddles and to curl up with you on the lounge (a typical poodle thing).
Sasha has the wonderful sweet nature of the poodle, just loves being with you, and can cry when you go out and leave her. She is not suited to any full-time workers, we would prefer her to go to a home where there is someone at home during the day that she can hang out with.
Please also note: We are only taking applications from Port Macquarie and areas within a 2 hour radius. Also, Sasha's foster carer has the first option of adopting Sasha herself if the "perfect" owner does not eventuate. We are committed to giving her owner's family regular updates on Sasha's progress.
Sasha is fully vaccinated, de-sexed and is a very healthy and happy pet, hopefully with many good years ahead of her.
Medical notes
No issues.
Adoption details
The first step is to email Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. for assessment regarding prospective ownership and pet suitability.
Adoption Application forms must be completed.
A property inspection will be carried out on properties in the Port Macquarie area so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you’ve selected. Proof of home ownership will be required. If renting your home, a letter from the owner’s agent confirming that the pet is allowed will be required.
A 2 week trial period commences on the day of adoption. If, for any reason, the dog is returned to Midcoast Dog Rescue within the trial period, the total adoption fee paid will be refunded.
All Midcoast Dog Rescue animals come desexed, microchipped, vaccinated (up to date), vet checked ,wormed, flea and tick treated.
.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
