Are you ready to get all the love, cuddles and kisses? Rocky is a very smart, happy, go lucky boy who has so much love to give his humans. He’ll be your little sidekick, your best friend and the best snuggler you’ll ever meet!

Meet Rocky, a 7 yr old male Kelpie X looking for his forever home.

Rocky is a very intelligent boy who knows how to sit, stay, down and wait. He is very responsive to training and commands. He is a very friendly happy boy and can sometimes show his excitement with jumping however with his ongoing training he is proving to master this. For this reason we suggest no small children in the household.

Rocky LOVES an ear scratch, a belly scratch….. actually he will take any kind of scratch! He will sit on your feet until you pet him then he will roll on his back for a nice belly rub.

Rocky is a huge toy fan and will need sturdy toys. He absolutely loves to chase a ball. Rocky will bring it back, drop it and is learning to wait. He will need someone who understands he needs consistency in ball play so that he continues to develop these safe play skills.

Rocky has proven to be dog friendly meeting a lot of different dogs of all shapes and sizes. He will happily say hello, have a sniff and maybe a little play then comes back to you for reassurance. Rocky loves a good long walk, stopping along the way for a rest and of course, a belly scratch. He will lay there and just watch the world go by with you. He also LOVES the water, he will happily put his feet in the lake or the beach to cool off.

Recently, Rocky has enjoyed a few dog friendly cafe visits where he will happily lay there on his blanket and enjoy a pigs ear and he doesn’t mind the odd puppycino too!

Rocky is in foster care in the Maryland, NSW area. They are currently available for interstate adoption. The adoption fee is $450.00 and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.

PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provides individual listings with specific requirements for each foster dog. If you submit an application or inquiry and DO NOT receive a response within 5 business days, please understand that you have not met the specific requirements for this dog. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time.

This organisation's adoption policy is moderate. What does this mean?
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire: https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
(2) If the questionnaire is approved we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) After that we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home, nearby park or your home.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
