About Spencer
Re-Introducing Spencer! Spencer is a Border Collie x Miniature Poodle born 30th July 2021.
Spencer was originally surrendered to us as his mum was fleeing domestic violence. Unfortunately she couldn't take him with her, but she knew she couldn't leave him behind. Spencer's surrender profile states that he is house trained & travels well in the car. He can be left alone with no issues & he is friendly with children and adult strangers.
Spencer was adopted from us the day after we listed him, however the family who took him wanted him to be an outside dog only & Spencer was too stressed being outside by himself while the family was inside. They then gave him to their aunty who said he was great with her dog, but unfortunately he did chase her cat, so she was unable to keep him.
Spencer tested well with other dogs, both male & female, however since being back at the facility he has been very humpy with other dogs & unable to focus on anything else. Unfortunately this has resulted in many failed meet & greets. If you have a friendly dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
We are now recommending Spencer not be rehomed with cats or pocket pets as he does chase them. While he didn't show signs of aggression when chasing, it would be too stressful for them existing cats at home.
Spencer has shown no signs of food aggression since being at the facility, however he has shown signs of separation anxiety.
Spencer is such a loving young man who wants nothing more than a home he can call his own and not have to worry about losing another family.
If you think you could be that furever family for Spencer, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Spencer’s adoption fee is $600, and this includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. Spencer is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Spencer is currently located in East Maitland.

We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
