About Tato
Heyo there! My name's Tato , but my hooman pals also like to call me Potato Gem, Totti, Potato Cake or Tater Tot, pretty cool, huh? I'm a 5-year-old boy who loves everything in life and is ready to find my furever home!
I'm just a curious, gentle, and shy guy, slowly adapting to this big world out there. You can say I'm a bit of a champion snoozer, but I've also got an energetic, playful, and outgoing side to me! Preferably, I do enjoy having my own space to stretch out and mellow.
I've got good news and good news! I can get along with other doggos, as long as you give me time and space to approach them. When I meet other greys, I tend to wiggle, jump, and hop out of pure excitement!
About home life: I can stay alone stay for long periods, snoozing away like the comfy king. I am. No chewing, accidents, or trouble from me, promise! Oh, and I’d love having a backyard to do those zoomies I'm always dreaming of. Though, I can adapt to a balcony in an apartment too.
Some things also make me giggle! I adore me some ear scratches, and won't hesitate to ask for more using my gentle paw . You should see me when I’m about to go for a walk – sniffing non-stop but never pulling on the lead. Plus, I'm the kind of grey who will lean against you just to make sure you're still there
For my pawfect home, I'd love:
- A pet-free household
- My own space, but easy access to cuddles and pats
- A yard for those occasional zoomies (but I can manage apartment living)
- Daily walks for me to explore and sniff . And I promise plentiful snoot snuffles and Dobby-like ears!
Won't you bring me and my happy tail wagging into your home and heart? promise loads of love, warmth, and cuddles in return!
Summary:
- NOT small dog or cat friendly
- Ideal home is one where people are home more not (WFH or part time workers)
- NOT suitable for homes with children younger than 12
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
https://greytgreys.org/adoption-form/
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
