About Maggie
Our super sweet and people focussed Maggie is ready to start her search for a family that meet her needs.
Maggie's date of birth is 21 September 2022. Maggie's breed mix (we wish we had done a DNA Test) we have been told is Malamute x Staghound xStaffordshire Bull Terrier. We are pretty sure there is Shar Pei in the mix too with her ear shape and curly tail. Maggie is a medium sized dog.
Maggie is a gentle soul, but very much a puppy. She loves her foster people and it is clear they equally love her however it is felt she needs a bit more space than a courtyard.
Maggie loves her walks - she has a couple of walks per day currently. She loves a play with her toys and loves a snuggle. Maggie loves curling up in her bed in the evening in the lounge room with her people. At night time Maggie is sleeping outside in a snuggly covered crate. Maggie does not bark...in fact her foster carers have not heard her bark at all.
Maggie came into PARH via the pound and she had chronic and long term ear infections. Maggie's ear infection is under control but she will need weekly maintence so that it does not become a future major issue.
Maggie is dog social. She has been observed to have a preference to play with dogs smaller than herself. She is more wary of dogs her size or bigger, but once she knows they are "safe" she is happy to play.
The type of home we are looking for is;
✅️ A couple or family that is looking for a indoor / outdoor companion.
✅️ Children - school aged and above. Maggie may accidentially knock over toddlers.
✅️ A family committed to maintaining Maggie's ears to reduce the risks of a full blown ear infection.
✅️ A family that will walk / exercise Maggie on a daily basis.
✅️ Good secure fencing to keep Maggie safe when her humans are not home.
✅️ A family willing to give Maggie lots of cuddles and snuggles.
If you meet the above criteria and want to know more about Maggie and how she may fit into your home please contact Carolyn on 0427 221 231.
Maggie's adoption fee is $800. She is flea and worm treated, vaccinated, desexed, microchipped and had her ear infections addressed with cleaning and treatment.

Maggie is a gentle and affectionate pup who loves people and wants nothing more than to find her forever home. She is an incredibly sweet dog, with a mix of Malamute, Staghound, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Shar Pei in her lineage. At medium-sized, Maggie loves getting out for walks and playing with her toys, but she also loves curling up for cuddles and snuggles with her humans.
Even though she is still young, Maggie has already been through quite a bit in her life. She was found at the pound with long-term ear infections that have since been addressed and are under control - however she will need some weekly maintenance to ensure they don't become a future issue. Despite this, Maggie remains an outgoing pup who is very social with other dogs; she prefers to play with smaller dogs but can be cautious when meeting larger ones until she knows they are safe.
Maggie would do best in a home that can provide her with lots of love and attention as well as daily walks and exercise; secure fencing to keep her safe when no one is home; access to both indoor and outdoor living spaces; children who are school aged or older (as she could accidentally knock over toddlers); and commitment to maintaining her ears regularly. If you think you have the perfect home for Maggie, please contact Carolyn on 0427 221 231!
Medical notes

Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
