About Decker
It is hard to put into a profile all the amazing qualities Decker possesses as he is simply one of a kind. This absolutely delightful boy has been described by his carers as the most easy going foster dog they have had around the house to date- what a great report ! He is the perfect size at 17kg and his gorgeous colouring gets him many adoring fans on his outings.
Decker is the perfect housemate. He is exceptionally well behaved at home and slotted in like he had always been there. He is very obedient, he rests while you’re busy, he is always up for cuddles and a play and wouldn’t ever dare think of destroying anything. He is toilet trained and will let you know if he needs to go out, he sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep and is generally just a very pleasant dog to have around the home.
In his foster home he is currently living with 2 adults, a large breed dog and 3 Guinea pigs. He adores his pack and makes sure to share his affectionate nature with everyone. He is always up for cuddles and welcomes visitors with open paws! He has met some children out and about and we feel he will be fine in a home with children due to his gentle, loving nature. He is absolutely besotted by the foster carers’ dog and enjoys a good play with her, followed by some cuddles on the dog bed or couch together. He would love to share his home with another playful, friendly and confident dog, but could be ok as an only dog if his people are home most of the time. His carers work from home so he has his pack around most of the time, but he has been left for half the day here and there with the other dog and has been fine. His new owners should be home more often than not while settling him in, but then he would be fine with part time workers ongoing.
Decker came to us from rural NSW so the central coast is a very new environment for him with lots of new sights, sounds and smells. Decker can become overstimulated at the beginning of outings and can react to seeing other dogs on leash on a walk. He has had a session with a trainer to give the carer some tips and this reaction is not aggressive it’s just an outlet for being overwhelmed. He has been on a few group pack walks with multiple dogs and although a little barky at the start, he soon slots into the walk and ends up walking in the middle of the pack surrounded by his doggy friends. He is building his confidence out and about, but his new owners will need to continue this slow exposure. He is an extremely smart dog so he picks things up very quickly and training is fun. He is either best suited to a more rural lifestyle where life isn’t as busy, or in a quieter suburban area with owners who will continue to build his confidence out and about.
Decker is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and lounge lizard. He LOVES the car and enjoys sticking his head out a rolled down window and feeling the breeze in his face. He has visited the beach and would make an amazing beach or bush doggo. He has the perfect energy levels to be able to keep up with whatever adventure you have planned for the day, but then will snooze the rest of the day away quietly. He has mastered his basic training and is the bestest boy to give meds to, visit the vet or handle. He didn’t understand what toys were when he arrived into care, but now he absolutely loves his toys and will always be up for a game!
Decker is a wonderfully versatile dog who has MANY incredible qualities. He will require a home where he is allowed inside as part of the family and be provided a warm bed inside to sleep on of a night.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
