About Oscar
Oscar has just turned 5 months old and is already in need of a new home. This sweet, very energetic and well mannered boy did nothing to end up where he is.
1st a farmer allows his own kelpies to breed ( heavens knows how many pups the poor dogs have had before this litter) , then an elderly couple who are struggling to walk themselves thought it was a good idea to go and buy him as their new pet.
You can do the maths, this great idea has lasted less than 3 months before they have realised that they cannot walk him, interact with him, train him or provide any physical enrichment for him and so when his energy levels were always high and he was excitable and jumping up, then suddenly HE was the problem!
So, this boy did nothing to deserve being surrendered and yet he is the one paying the price.
Oscar is a very friendly, loveable, playful and highly energetic lolloping baby that needs
- lots of exercise every single day
- lots of stimulation including training and enrichment
- lots of love and attention
- this baby will be a medium size dog when fully grown so you’ll need to be financially able to feed, medicate and provide veterinary care for him for the next 15 odd years
- a decent yard to enjoy at home when he’s not out on walks or at the park, he is not suitable for an apartment or townhouse environment
- access inside and outside and be an inside dog with his family
Oscar is good with other dogs, he’d love another size and energy matched playmate in the home. He has had a small amount of exposure to cats, he’s been ok but is still a pup, if you have a cat, you would need to commit to continued training.
This boy is gorgeous and deserves a lovely home.
Medical notes
Oscar is only 5 months old and is not yet ready for desexing , he will be desexed by rescue when age appropriate and the new owner will need to abide by this.

Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
Providing quality information as a part of your enquiry including information about your home environment, family, work hours, other pets and what you are looking for in a companion animal along with what you can offer one will greatly assist.
Please always provide a contact phone number as a part of your enquiry.
