This uniquely beautiful boy has been one of the most clever and goofiest babies we've fostered. He has a lot of personality and energy and has even more love to give and things to explore. With further training and a settled home, he would make an amazing new addition to your family; and although he has a few battle scars he just wants a happy life and to feel safe and wanted.
He likes to be with his people all the time, or another dog (preferably female) around his size to play with. He can get over-excited, so a dog with a higher tolerance or similar play type would be ideal.
He is very jumpy and skittish when in new environments; and sudden noises, bangs, dogs barking on walks have startled him.
He is a drooler; almost every mealtime he will have at least one bubble on the side of his mouth, complimenting the dribble on the other.
He walks well on a Halti/harness and likes to have something to play/chew to keep him calm or distracted when play time isn't an option.
He picks up tricks and routines very quickly (sits and waits for food etc.).
He will act as your doorbell or notify you when people are passing by. He can get a little over-excited when people enter but is unlearning these unwanted habits. Overall, he is very friendly to people.
He is untested with cats (but highly unlikely to be a good match). Currently we are teaching him to be gentle and not be too boisterous when he plays or gets excited (light biting/paw stamping/jumping). He is very sweet to the young children he has met.
He is very cuddly, hasn't quite got the hang of personal space yet, but we're getting there.
Stairs seemed to be an obstacle for him; but he has since overcome his fears. It may take a while to adjust if his ‘Forever Home’ has many stairs.
He bonks his head a lot and doesn't take much care in noticing his surroundings; always keep cups/glasses above his level.
He currently lives inside and out; he is toilet trained well and he will tell you when he must go.
He needs a high fence with a secure latching/lock on any gates.
He does have some possessiveness over food and is fed separately to the other dogs.
