About Marty
Marty is a playful and interactive boy who is as happy running as he is cuddling. Marty came to us as a pound rescue so learning more about Marty will be an adventure of discovery. What we know for certain is that Marty is a very affectionate and handsome boy who loves cuddling, belly scratches and having your attention.
Marty was listed by the pound as a Mastiff mix, but now that we've had some time with him we think he's more likely and Amercian Stafforshire and Kelpie Mix. He has a long, lean body and a gorgeous boof head. He was a little underweight when he came into care and has started to fill out, but still has his lean athlete's figure (lucky dog). Marty tips the scales at just over thirty kilograms and won't get much heaveir than that.
Like most pound rescues, Marty is coming out his shell in our care. He's been a good playmate for our foster carer's resident dog and other foster pooches but is still a little nervous around dogs he meets for the first time. He travels well in the car and has coped really well when being handled by different volunteers on the way to all the normal Vet appointments for desexing and immunisations. Even the Vet said he was a sweetie!
Marty will enjoy an active family that have time to train him, introduce him to the neighbourhood dogs and show him the love he deserves. What we've seen so far is really encouraging that he'll make a great compainion dog.
If you think you have the time and love to bring Marty into your life and home, he will repay it in spades and become the best friend you never knew you needed.
