About Flyn
Hi! I'm Flyn and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR FLYN
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/wBEn1hcLZrvixGbS6
NOTE: You are unable to meet Flyn until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Flint in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• MUST be allowed inside with my family
• I am a puppy, so I WILL bite, chew things, toilet inside, bark & cry and be destructive. It is up to you to train these behaviours out of me. Please don't apply for me if you are not willing to put in the effort to train me to grow up to be a well behaved and social dog.
• A doggie companion is a MUST as I have had little to no socialisation and having a dog to show me how to behave will ensure I will become a well adjusted dog.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
• I would love to go to doggy daycare to give me basic manners and to be around other dogs.
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
• Cats or small animals as I may find them fun to chase
My best features:
• Playful once comfortable
• Highly food motivated
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans once I get to know and trust you.
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Exuberant & full of beans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice & positive reinforcement I should be a pro in no time
• I am VERY shy at first with new people and in new environments so it is SO VERY important that I have a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization & exposure to lots of environments, people & other animals.
Medical notes
Nutritional needs were not met during puppy growth period which may result in growth deficiencies. If lameness occurs as a result vet recommendation is rest and anti-inflammatories which will be the responsibility of the new owner. Vets recommend a diet of good quality, large breed food to ensure adequate nutritional needs are met to counter act any growth deficiencies.
