About Cooper
Hello readers.
My profile suggests that my name is Cooper, but in my time with CRQ I have been called so many other names like “Mr Perfect Angel Boy”, “Mr Handsome Man” and “Coopy”. I think all these names suit me well, but foster mum’s favourite is definitely “Mr Perfect Angel Boy”.
So now that you know I am perfect and angel boy, we can wrap this profile up here because what else is there to know?
Okay fine…. foster mum says I need to tell you more to help me find my perfect forever family, so here we go!
I will be your shadow and stay by your side always. Careful not to trip over me at the start as I cling extra close, but I will relax after some time and let you walk in peace. I do like to sleep next to you whenever I can. This means on the couch while you watch TV, in the bed while you sleep, on the floor (doggy bed) while you work or do crafts etc. We must be best buddies for life, ok??
Because I am really good best buddy, I can get upset when you leave. Like what if you don’t come home?? What will I do??? It is very scary and upsets me. But if you leave the TV on for me and let me learn your routine, I will learn to trust that you will come back, and I won’t worry so much. Just give me some time to learn this okay.
I am eating a sensitive food diet because my tummy was quite upset when I arrived at CRQ. The diet is working well, and my tummy feels much better.
I am very good with toileting if you let me go outside regularly. I am quiet boy and won’t bark to tell you that I need to go outside, but once I learn where the door is I will stand there and wait for you to let me out. So, pay attention pls because I am good polite boy.
I like other doggies. So far, I have only met small ones. I particularly like girl doggies. They are fun to play with. I can get protective around my food though, so if you have a little buddy already make sure we both have plenty to eat and if needed we might need to eat separately.
I am good with most humans but sometimes I need 5 mins to suss out if the person is safe. I might growl a bit while I work this out, but once they pass the Cooper sniff test, I am okay with them. This happens more with men for some reason, maybe they smell funny.
I walk well, I travel in the car well, I bath well, I am happy to wear jumpers and I behave well around most dogs and people.
See… am perfect angel boy.
My perfect family is someone/s who is around a lot and can manage my separation anxiety when they leave (could be a problem in apartments or townhouses due to noise). I am a great companion for someone who needs a lot of love and attention.
Okay your turn, tell me why you are perfect angel family for me?
Love and Woofs, Mr Perfect Angel Boy xx
Medical notes
7 year old Cooper is desexed and microchipped. He is up to date with vaccinations, as well as flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
Cooper recently had a dental and had around 10 teeth extracted, as well as a scale and polish.
Cooper also had an ACTH Stim test to rule out Addisons disease after his initial blood results showed a few abnormalities, but he has received the all clear and the results were negative for Addisons.
He also needs to stay on a fairly bland and easily digestible diet, otherwise he is prone to getting an upset tummy and soft stools.
