About Jetson
Jetson is a gorgeous black male Labrador raised in the Assistance Dogs Australia program. He is 8 months old, desexed and looking for his forever home!
Jetson is a lovable boy, super affectionate and cuddly with wonderful home manners.
Although Jetson has shown some great qualities during his time in the Assistance Dogs Australia puppy education scheme, we have decided that he is not suitable to be placed as an Assistance Dog.
Jetson’s frustration tolerance is low and resulting behaviours can be unpredictable.
He loves other dogs but can be a rough player off lead and reactive on lead when passing dogs in the street.
He will ask you to be patient while he is getting used to you, your home, and the new neighbourhood. He may take time to bond with you and feel comfortable in his new home. Then, he is guaranteed to shine!
All Assistance Dogs are accustomed to spending most of their time with humans inside their home so Jetson’s ideal person or family would be willing to make him a big part of their daily lives and are able to read and support his needs.
We feel Jetson is at his best in a familiar environment where the daily routine is predictable, and the people are constant.
Singles, couples, or families with adult children would be best. Jetson might benefit from being the only dog in the house but would consider house & human sharing with the right canine. He would need outdoor space to expend energy freely and daily.
Jetson is a healthy young dog. Vaccinations and parasite protection have been kept up to date. If you think Jetson could be the right dog for you or you have any further questions, please email Mel at mwatson@assistancedogs.org.au so that I can pass on an application form for you to complete.
