Penny

If you are looking for a velcro dog to help you through anything that comes your way by sticking close and offering you endless soft hugs, then we have the girl for you!

This snuggly sweetheart we've dubbed our 'emotional support dog' is a 12 month old staffy x and her name is Penny. We think she would be the perfect dog for anyone looking for a companion to do life with.

Penny has been through some tough times herself and she has needed some TLC to help her get back to full health after a period of neglect but she is making great progress and she hasn't let her past diminish the love, trust and loyalty she has for humans.

This girl has a huge heart and a gentle spirit. She loves to squish up on your lap or sit close beside you and rest her head on your shoulder. She loves belly rubs and cuddles and walks on lead. She enjoys playing and gets on well with other dogs then at the end of the day she loves sleeping beside you with her head on your pillow.

Penny will need obedience training as well as lots of walks and games to keep her clever mind occupied every day but in between activities she is very happy to lay at your feet or snooze on the couch.

If we had to fault Penny at all, it would be on her manners around human food. She can be cheeky and pinch food off the kitchen bench or will snoop around in open cupboards but this behaviour stems from her not being adequately fed in the past and we expect this will improve in time with a little training.

She really is a fantastic snuggler and her devotion to her humans is so special. We could see her as a great aid in helping someone process their difficult emotions with her reassuring companionship and great listening skills.
