About Mojo
Hi my name is Mojo
I’m a 10 year and 6 month old, Long haired Dachshund.
Wow what a few wild months he has had in care!
So he went up for adoption - only one person applied and then they cancelled on us anyways...........
We were all feeling pretty down about it as we see others in the rescue get adopted, and while he was minding his own business as his foster carers home he was attacked by another dog.
Well there began a rollercoaster!
So the director thinks he may have a guarding angel watching over him as wow what a ride!
1. Mojo has survived a vicious dog attack
2. Mojo has survived the shock of his attack
3. Mojo has survived his first surgery including turning blue and being intubated
4. Mojo has survived his infections and the draining (it is painful as f**k having them drained )
5. Mojo has survived his artery blowing
6. Mojo has survived the life saving surgery to fix this blown artery!
After two months of recovery Mojo being the little warrior he is, is smashing goals and smashing expectations.
Mojo is back to his normal self - except with maybe a extra scar or two (But hey chicks dig scars hey!
Mojo is just a magnificent little man who loves life and loves people.
Mojo's past life he may have been a butler as he loves to announce when someone arrives at the house a quick hello Mojo and a wink and he's all good - - we think he honestly thinks people come to see him.
Mojo came into care a few months before that and was very politely but firmly told his foster mum and the vet that he needed to go on a diet! We can tell you now Mojo has the side eye look down pat when his weight is discussed!
Mojo currently weigh 13.5kgs
So while we think Mojo's doing really well losing the weight the scales and the nasty vet guy said hes not really losing much, so anyone who is willing to open their heart and home for him needs to be aware of his food intake and while exercise and diet will keep him active we need to be mindful he is possibly just a full figured boy and probably will be for life.
Obviously being a Dachshund we all know that we can come with back problems so there needs to be a few rules for Mojo
(1) No steps or stairs in his new home and
(2) a home that ‘doesn’t fall for his Bambi eyes when he's begging for food like he's starving’ - Mojo's foster mum has advised his ew mum will need to be dedicated and strict in ensuring that the weight he have lost okay maintained whilst in care can be continued.
Now onto the fun stuff (because he really is a fun happy go lucky kind of guy ………….. Let me tell you now Mojo's love his people, he is currently in care at a home with another small breed and being with others- Mojo does get on with other dogs no problems but also likes the attention on himmmmmmmmmm.
Mojo will randomly roll onto his back in front of people to get belly rubs – yes hes been known to lay in the way so you either have to walk around him or give into his demands and rub his belly.
In Mojo's head he is a fun loving active outdoor type of guy but in truth he's more than happy to follow you around – often just with his eyes from the couch cushion he's lying on. Mojo love a short walk, cuddle time, couch time, car time and anything that involves hanging out with my humans. Mojo also loves to go camping - you just need to remember to bring him his own chair to snooze on.
Mojo would prefer a home with kids over the age of 8 simply as he like his quiet but comfy life.
Mojo would love to live with someone who is home more often not or someone who can work from home and he can come in and out of your office doing his own thing when he wants.
He is toilet trained.
Oh yeah Mojo has also had in care desexing and dental of a scale and polish
Mojo does have a coat that does require some brushing and a good groom every few months to ensure that he stays looking his best. Mojo also seems to be a huge fan of the shave looked since his surgery
Mojo has not been around cats but we believe that Mojo would either bark at them trying to boss them or he would chase them simply because he would know he's not supposed too – can’t say he runs far or fast but he would give it a try.
Mojo's foster parent’s say hes a joy to have around so now is the time to find his furever home.
So if you’re interested in opening your home to some love, some fun, a few dramatics and lots of laughter send thru an adoption application
If you are looking for a fur child with lots of love to give – please apply!!!

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
