About Charlie and Lyra
Charlie and Lyra are the squishiest, smoochiest little pair of pug cross boston terriers! They love nothing more than to snuggle with each other and their humans. They are easy going, medium energy and get along well with most other dogs. After a morning walk in the park (where they like to do zoomies together!) they like to nap and check on the humans in the house - especially when said humans are heading to the kitchen. They also enjoy playing with soft toys, puzzles and kongs.
MY IDEAL HOME: These two LOVE human attention. They do well when left alone, but would love to have someone around as much as possible. They are toilet trained, are currently in foster care in an apartment and seem to do well in this setting. While they do get startled by outside noises, they have been getting less reactive to them as they settle more into their foster home. They also tend to jump up on people when they get excited, but are very easy to train (as they are eager to please and very food motivated!) and with some gentle guidance will make the perfect pets for individuals, couples or families.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Charlie and Lyra are medium energy dogs. They are still young pups and enjoy a decent daily walk and sniff in the park (30-45 min) after which they are happy to just chill at home.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: They don't currently live with children, but have lived with them in the past without an issue. As they tend to jump up when excited, they may not be suitable to very young children (especially Charlie, who, at 12kg, is the chunkier of the pair).
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: They get along well with other dogs. In their foster home they live with a 9 year old female Boxer cross. Charlie, who is the more sensitive of the pair, can become a bit possessive of toys (especially the ones stuffed with treats!) and can growl if approached by the other dogs; however, this is easily managed. They are also well behaved at meal time, patiently waiting for their turn. In the park, they are happy to sniff and play with dogs of all sizes.

We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
