Hello, I am Jewel, and I am ready to be the princess in your life.
I am a pedigree Cocker Spaniel girl, and my breeder was excited to get babies from me but sadly, things didn’t go well with my first litter, and I almost died.
I spent a couple of weeks in and out of hospital and ultimately, I was surrendered to rescue, in critical condition.
I needed emergency surgery to remove my uterus and specialised care to nurse me back to health but, against all odds, I made a full recovery.
My foster carers say that I definitely enjoy the finer things in life and although I am ok with other dogs, I would definitely prefer to be your one and only pampered pooch.
When it comes to food, don’t let the humans tell you that I eat anything (they lie), my favourite food is chicken necks, and I would love it if you could buy a regular supply of them. I will also eat pretty much anything you offer me from your plate, and I will also eat home made dog food if it meets my exacting standards.
Now, when it comes to the sleeping arrangements, you have 2 options. I can either share your bed or you can sleep elsewhere, and I will have your bed. Totally your choice. I trust that you will make the right one.
I bond very closely to my human so if you are the lucky one that I choose, you will have to accept that I will be beside you as much as possible. Whether you are going to the kitchen, the toilet or for a walk, I will want to go too. If you work away from home a lot, that would defeat the purpose of having such a great companion dog and we wouldn’t be a good match.
I know it probably goes without saying but I will also need regular grooming and pamper sessions to keep me looking and smelling my best.
I am fine with kids and cats. I am good in the house and in the car. I am friendly and social and love to be included in whatever is going on.
I know I probably sound a bit high maintenance, but I am really not. If we have the same standards of how a dog like me should live, then we will get along just fine.
