About Ruby
******************APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ******************************
Beautiful Black beauty Ruby is 14 months old and finds herself in the pound, homeless and facing the real possibility that she will not get to live out the rest of her life unless we can throw her a lifeline. This gorgeous girl is not coping well in the pound and needs out ASAP.
Ruby loves people, she is such a friendly girl that she can’t contain her excitement and will jump up to say hello and gain your attention. Once Ruby has calmed down, she is super affectionate and loves cuddles from anyone willing to give them, she especially loves tummy rubs and chest scratches. Ruby loves to play and gets very excitable, she is still such a young dog and often doesn’t realise her size, she is best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 8 years old and whom have experience with large breed dogs.
Ruby hasn’t received the correct socialisation or training in her short life, everything is exciting and overwhelming, she jumps up to attention seek reassurance from her people when she is unsure. Ruby needs to work on her impulse control first and foremost, she will also benefit from obedience classes so that she can perfect the basics and learn some manners and boundaries. Ruby is not suited to a first-time shepherd owner; she needs someone that will be willing to put in the work with her to help build up her confidence.
Ruby is an energetic girl who loves to play, she is looking for an active family that will meet both her physical and mental stimulation needs. Ruby would love to play fetch in the yard and to go on long hikes, but she also wants to keep her mind busy at home through doggy enrichment and games, keeping Ruby mentally busy and challenged will ensure she is happy and healthy on this outside and the inside!
Ruby tested well with other dogs, she will bark at them as they walk past her pen however is very appeasing and submissive when in the company of another dog. Ruby is desperate to play with another dog, she just isn’t quite sure how to do it, she has little experience with others and needs to learn how to speak dog and read their cues! Ruby may be suited living with a large-breed, male dog that is friendly and can teach her how to dog… she would also be fine as the only dog in her home.
Ruby has never lived with a cat or other small pets.
Ruby just adores people and is desperately craving human attention and affection and would love to have someone home more often than not. Ruby would love to go on adventures with her people and be allowed inside, she is such a cuddly girl, we are sure she could think of nothing better than curling up into the crook of your legs at night!

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
