Arlo

Meet Arlo! He is a gorgeous, goofy and people-oriented Boxer x American Bulldog mix. Arlo loves attention and pats, but can also have big bursts of energy! He is very food motivated and already has some foundational training (he knows sit, shake and drop). Typical of his breed, he has been anxious in the shelter and is wary of strangers, but he prefers to be with his people as often as possible. His adopter/s will need to do work around preventing separation anxiety in the home, but Arlo is used to life as an indoor dog and may be okay living with cats who are dog-savvy (with slow and gradual introductions of course). Arlo's new owners will need to continue his training and in particular encouraging him not to jump up when he's excited and walking calmly on lead. For this reason, Arlo is suited to a teen/adult only home. Arlo is likely best as an only dog since he is very people-focused, however he may be okay with another calm and dog-friendly companion. Arlo's adopter/s would preferably have had experience with similar breeds.
