About Daisy
Beautiful Daisy May is a loyal 6 year old golden Labrador with bounding loving energy looking for her forever home. Daisy loves nothing more than a big walk, cuddle and a snooze, and family to call her own.
She is not big for a Lab more the shorter style with her big loving Labrador eyes and typical Lab loving nature she's just gorgeous
Daisy is currently being fostered in a family with 3 children, the youngest being 5 years old. She adores people, she wants to be amongst all the action and is never far away.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM AND JUNK FOLDERS FOR YOUR APPLICATION FORM ONCE YOU HAVE SENT YOUR INITIAL ENQUIRY
Favorite things:
Daisyâs favorite things to do are go for walks, eat ( Yup she's a Labrador) and be around people. She loves to follow you around the backyard, keeping a close eye on what youâre doing by following closely on your heels. She is never far away.
She has just come back from a holiday at the beach and she absolutely loved it although was a little unsure about the rolling waves lol
Interactions with other animals:
Daisy loves interacting with other dogs, and loves going for a little play and sniff but will happily return when called. Daisy is great at reading the mood of other dogs. She will leave them alone if they appear a little grumpy, or have a little chase if theyâre up for a play.
Daisy hasnât interacted with any cats since being in her foster home, so weâre not too sure about that.Daisy is suited to a home with or without another dog as long as they are male and not all over her with great social skills
Human interactions:
Daisy is a very loving girl. She likes to be close to everyone, especially if pats are on offer. She often forgets her size and can get a bit jumpy on first interactions, for example, going outside where she is, however this is something that her foster family has been working with and she is improving everyday. She will still need continued training to stop her excited juminjess on people but is learning fast
Obedience:
Daisyâs foster family have been working on commands with her and sheâs great at sitting when asked. Stay is one that they have been working on with her to especially help with her jumping and waiting to come inside. She has exceptional recall, and willingness to learn. We are looking for a committed family to continue working with her to better these skills.
Hygiene and Toileting:
Daisyâs coat is very low maintenance, being short and easy to care for. She is completely toilet trained and hasnât had any inside accidents since being in foster care.
Sleeping:
Daisy sleeps in the laundry at her foster home, and we donât hear a peep from her. She goes to bed around 10:30pm and will happily sleep until her family is up between 5am-7am.
Independence:
Daisy is a very independent girl, who spends most of her days outside while her foster family are at work and school. She rarely barks and after her early morning walk she naps the day away. She is very happy to see her family return and will patiently wait until she is welcomed inside for pats.
Exercise:
Daisy came into foster care on the larger side with a few kgs to lose. She happily has taken on walking with her foster mum daily and has gradually increased her walks to up to 6 km a day with no problem apart from some very heavy breathing. She walks very well alongside her foster mum on the lead with a bit of pulling when the smells take over.
Travel:
Daisy happily travels in the car. She has had some shorter trips in the car and longer traveling up to 2 hrs with no issue. Perfect time for a few zzzzzzzâs.
Food:
Daisy is fed twice daily, with her main meal being given in the morning and then a smaller meal of an evening. She is currently on premium dry food
Inside the home:
Daisy initially is a bit excitable when coming inside and is keen for a pat and to check out what everyone is doing. Daisy soon enough settles down on her bed or asleep on the floor next to her foster family. She seems to be settling a lot quicker everyday with guidance from her foster family.
Ideal home:
Good sized yard with secure fencing
Kids over 10 and dog savvy
Family willing to continue training and socialization
Walks a must for this girl and with her family being able to lead this strong girl
A family who want Daisy May to be included in every aspect of their daily life đ
