About Jack
Hi my name is Jack, I am a Australian Bulldog and I am 1 year and 3 months old
I came into care about 2 months ago needing to learn some manners and training which the rescue has been working on.
I am currently hanging out with other dogs – they are fun company but my foster mum has to supervise me cause while I love other dogs, I am a bit of a bulldozer and forget my size and strength, oh yeah and I can sometimes want to hump them – oops!
My foster mum says I have no idea of personal space or the fact that I use my weight to get what I want sometimes – she says I am a boofhead but lovable and highly entertaining.
My foster mum says I am a big chunk of love and I have two speeds – either full on bulldog mode or calm quiet lazy arse bulldog mode.
I do have some food aggression so if I’m in a home with another dog we would need to make sure that we are fed separately or monitored at all times, and even with small kids if they have food I have been known to try and snatch it out of their hands – my foster mum is working with me on this and I don’t try and take it out of her hand but for this reason my foster mum thinks it would be better to go to a home with kids over 10 years of age or someone who can continue working with me on this.
Also I do send kids flying with my enthusiasm sometimes – oops!
I am still learning the word no and apparently I score a 8 out of 10 with response – other days I don’t have my listening ears on and everything is just fun and games but I’m doing so much better than when I first came into care.
I love a good day of chilling outside in the fresh air with a breeze but being a bull dog do need to be able to have access 24/7 to inside when it's hot - I am not stupid I will happily go spend time on the couch if it's hot.
I am toilet trained and I know I have amazing manners in the house - while I would love human company thru the day (of course any bulldog would!) but if you worked I would be happy with a treat or something else to keep me occupied while you’re at work but then I would expect when you get home lots of attention and love and a good walk or a play in the backyard as I would need to burn off some energy.
I'm not an independent guy (ha ha) so if I can super glue myself to you when your home – I am a huge help – we do so much stuff together I will be right by your side or in your way you know normal bulldog behavior.
I do love having naps with my human and, I like to follow them around and sleep by their feet or on their lap if they let me.
I am not tested on cats and honestly could go either way - my foster mum refuses to ask the man down the road who has a cat if I meet him.
And chooks are a big no for me as well - oops!
I love to sleep next to you on the couch while watching TV, or on your bed – see I say next to you, because it sounds so much better to say next then to say on top of you! At my foster parent's house, I sleep in the lounge room where it is nice and cool and I am very well behaved and don't make a peep (except for some snoring!).
I would also need to be able to have access inside 24/7 due to my breed and you know well we live in Queensland!

Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
