About Sookie - 8 Week Old Dachshund X Staffy (Trial)
Sookie is such a happy, playful girl. She is a typical puppy, she has loads of energy, loves to play with soft toys and absolutely loves people and other dogs. She also loves cuddles and to fall asleep in your arms.
Sookie is 3/4 Dachshund and 1/4 Staffy. She would be best suited to homes with older children or couples and someone home more often then not. He needs someone with time to dedicate to training.
Being a Dachshund mix she has a longer back. Which means they can be more prone to injury. This is why we recommend homes with older children. Dogs with longer backs can get easily hurt if dropped, or when jumping of couches or beds, or even going up and down stairs. So modifying homes is very important if you wish to adopt a Dachshund mix. They require pet ramps to get up and down safely of furniture to help minimise these risks.
Sookie is being fostered with a family that has other dogs, so she is very well socialised but will need to keep the learning going to build confidence. Sookie will benefit from attending a puppy preschool to help further her education. She is sleeping through the night and normally gets up between 6 and 7am as long as she is comfortable and warm.
She will melt a lot of hearts, and choosing 1 family to adopt her will be very hard. So please be patient while we look through the applications as this may take some time.
For more information on Sookie please contact her foster carer on their email nsharkey73@hotmaiI.com. She is in foster care in Kurri Kurri, NSW.
Sookie's adoption fee is $800. As she is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, Sydney and Port Stephens because she will need to be returned to a DRN approved vet for desexing when she is approximately 5/6 months old. Please NO out of area applications.
