Leroy

Leroy is a 12 month old Kelpie who has been described by his foster carers as "a dream". This boy is intelligent and eager to please. He is great in the car, walks well on lead, is submissive with other dogs and is picking up basic training commands very quickly.

Leroy was rescued from a pound facility and his history is unknown but he shows signs that he may have experienced roughly handling in his previous life, such as cowering at sudden hand movements and some apprehension around doorways. He finds active dogs a bit overwhelming and tires quickly but in all his interactions with humans and other dogs he is calm and passive. He is a genuinely lovely dog.

Leroy would be suitable for a home with children and could be introduced to other animals. He would enjoy attending dog training and would ideally be exercised for at least 2 hours a day. Like all rescues, Leroy will need gentle instruction, reassurance and patience as he settles in and learns the ropes but we are confident he will settle in quickly and bring a lot of joy to his new family.

Leroy is not a working dog. He will make a loving companion for someone with an active lifestyle during the day and a bed in front of the fire or some space on the couch for him to snuggle up at night.
