About Kipper
Let me introduce a handsome, lovable, pocket rocket named Kipper.
Kipper is an adventurous boy, being a Jack Russell he is very alert and has a great sense of sight and smell he doesn’t miss a single thing – He is always looking for new things to investigate. In his down time he is certainly the cuddliest little lap dog - no doubt about it!
Kipper is a petite little fella only weighing in at 3 kilos so literally a pocket size ball of energy
This gorgeous boy will be sure to win your heart. He is fast, active, smart, a quick learner, and loves adventure. At just 5 months old , he will need continued guidance with a routine, repetition and rewards to become the best member of the family.
Kipper would do well with a family, individual or couple who is home a lot and can keep him company. He is happiest when he is with his humans.
Kipper did come from a not so great environment so he still has some challenges to work through and will need a dedicated human to ensure he can mature into the bestest boy he can.
The great thing is he has come so far and being so very young he has heaps of potential

Favorite Things:
On an evening Kipper loves , loves , loves to sit on your lap or nap by your side on the couch.
Our sweet little guy enjoys a variety of toys and puzzles, being a pup he will require durable good quality toys and interactive treat toys like Lickmats and Kong sticks filled with kibble to keep his mind busy.
Kipper’s favorite part of the day is his daily walk along with the odd run of zoomies or a game of fetch and chase with no return.
He loves to sleep on his mother's bed and nap under the covers.
Interaction with Humans:
Kipper is a human LOVER
Kipper is currently in foster care with a family with teenagers. He is your own personal shadow and happiest when with his humans, He has been welcoming of all human visitors. Kipper is young and will require a patient supportive family to help him feel safe whilst transitioning into his new home.
Obedience and Training:
Kipper is highly food orientated, He can sit when asked most of the time (but life is just too fun to be sitting) so consistency and rewards are needed. He loves walks, there is so much to see and smell, he pulls a little which will likely self correct in time – Practice makes perfect!
Kipper as we said has come from a tough start and can be a little defiant when in trouble and he will want to argue back but we have found that a reward based positive training is the best method for him as loud voices upset him.
Kipper is partially toilet trained and will require access to a pet door or prompted to go outside for toilet breaks whilst inside.
Kipper is initially excited when traveling in the car, after you start your trip he does sit quietly in the dog seat secured with a harness and dog seat belt clip.
Kipper is young and does have a big personality but being a small dog when it comes to a little discipline he can sometimes display a little ‘tude’ (attitude) so he will need continued guidance with a routine, repetition and rewards to change his perception of his position in the pack.
Animal Social Skills:
Kipper has enjoyed a few playdates with varies size fur friends, he initially displayed a little fear and nervousness after some time he was most successful when interacting with medium and large dog
We find him to be very overzealous and a little bossy and dominant with smaller dogs that can be extremely annoying and most small dogs would not tolerateWhen we had him with a large well socialized and tolerate dog he seemed to be initially intimidated and carried on like a pork chop for a while but after a calm and relaxed 10 minutes he became very happy to play and jump around and yes on the dog and he had a ball
We fell for this reason he is definitely better suited in a home with a medium to large dog that will tolerate his initial carry on and his initial excitement to meet them
We will be seeking a home with a fur sister, a medium to larger size dog , female , desexed , playful yet assertive and very well socialized.
Kipper is in foster care with a dog savvy cat, but can't contain his excitement therefore we will not be adopting him to a home with cats.
As Kipper despises being alone we feel having a fur friend will assist him when alone
Food:
Kipper is on a diet of Premium dry puppy and is a grazer, he has access to dry food all day.
He enjoys a small serving of his roll loaf in the evening and enjoys the occasional long lasting treat and his interactive treat toys.
Independence:
Kipper prefers to be in his humans or fur friends presence he is not suited to being left alone all day in a yard on his own for extended periods
Sleeping:
Kipper sleeps inside, nearby foster Mum, given the choice he’d love to snuggle up and sleep in your bed.
Exercise:
Kipper loves his daily walks being a Jack he will require daily enrichment, walks and exercise.
Our little pocket rocket will keep up all day if needed but is also happy to wind down and relax on the couch.
Inside the home:
Our gorgeous guy loves the good life and enjoys being indoors or wherever his loved ones are, Kipper is not fully toilet trained but making good progress when prompted to go outside or has outdoor access
Ideal Home:
Kipper's ideal home would be an active loving responsible family/ couple or individual who is looking for a faithful companion who’s by your side and included as a member of the family. If children live in the residence we’d prefer a home with older children with dog experience as sometimes puppy play can be of a boisterous, mouthy excitable nature.
Kipper is still young and has a lot to learn, so we seek a home who can provide routine, repetition, and reward training. A consistent approach to his development and dog socialization would be ideal.
Kipper loves his people therefore not suited to being left alone all day in a yard on his own for extended periods
Kipper's ideal home will include a medium size female dog, desexed, playful , tolerant yet assertive as he’d love a playmate and a dog to show him the ways and help him build confidence along with a good sized secure grass yard .
Kipper is an absolute ripper - He truly is the sweetest, most adventurous boy and will make a loyal companion and a great best friend!.
