About Reuben - 10 Month Old Dachshund X Kelpie (Trial)
You’ll fall for Reuben’s stunning dapple coat and his good looks and when you meet him you’ll fall in love with his charming personality. He weighs 13kg so is not exactly a tiny lap dog.
Reuben is a happy and loving boy, who just wants to please you. He hasn’t had the best start to life and needs a loving, calm home where he is treated like one of the family. He gets on well with other dogs and would benefit from the company of a fur sibling as he is still young and enjoys playing. Reuben is untested with cats. He knows how to sit, and is starting to come when called, he is food motivated and very keen to learn and be goodest boy. He loves attention, pats, snuggles and belly rubs, Reuben wants be by your side or your shadow.
Reuben needs to sleep inside with his people, he enjoys snuggles on the sofa as well as sunbaking in the garden. Reuben is starting to play fetch with a tennis ball and loves playing tug of war with his foster fur siblings. He is fine outside but wants to be inside when you’re home.
Reuben is mostly toilet trained and has only had a few accidents in care. He sleeps on his own bed in his foster carers bedroom.
Reuben would prefer someone home or at least another dog for company. He is fine for a few hours but would prefer company, he needs to feel part of the family.
He would benefit from training on lead as he gets excited going for walks and can pull a bit. He would love long walks with his family. As he has only just been vaccinated, he hasn’t been out, but the kelpie in him will require regular exercise.
