About Phoenix
Please meet 8 yo PHOENIX, a very sweet-tempered and affectionate tricolour Kelpie male, who wants nothing more than to spend time with his favourite humans.
When he first arrived in care, he introduced himself to his new foster mum by giving her a massive hug. Picture this - front legs firmly wrapped around her waist and head resting on her tummy. Introductions over, he happily jumped into the back of her car as if to say, "Let's go, Mum".
Phoenix is great with people, including children, and has never met a person he doesn't love. He's a tactile boy and enjoys shaking hands.
He's also very dog friendly. For a mature dog, he still has plenty of bounce and enjoys a good romp with his canine pals.
Eager to please and as smart as a new paint, Phoenix will do his best to keep his humans happy. He hasn't had much experience walking on a lead, but he tries. He is house-trained and very adaptable. He has no interest in climbing fences. Why would he, when he just wants to be with his family?
Phoenix would make an ideal canine companion or a member of a family with older children who enjoy running around and playing.
Preference will be given to homes where someone is around most of the time and/or there is another compatible dog for him to play with.
If you are interested in meeting this lovely boy, please complete the online application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and ensure that you include photos of your yard and fencing.
Phoenix lives in Warwick, Queensland.
Medical notes
Phoenix was desexed on 15 May 2023, at which time he weighed 23 kgs.
On 1 June 2023, Phoenix underwent dental surgery, involving a dental scale and polish and two extractions, at a cost of $1,742.23.
