A very loyal and loving companion!
This girl has an amazing capacity to trust and love even after what she has gone through. Now it's time for her to continue her journey - she is looking for a lucky family/person to call her own. More importantly a family/person with time, love and patience so Lagatha can continue to enjoy life.
Lagatha was used for breeding a lot of litters. But her health was neglected to the point she was skin and bones, covered in fleas, and had ear infections.
When she came into our care she was a very shy dog but she was still so trusting in letting us help her. We had to put her on a very strict diet to not over feed her too quickly due to her poor condition.
Since being in our care for 3 months now she has regained her health fully and is thriving, such a very happy sweet girl.
Lagatha is not a barker. She doesn't bark at home unless there is a stranger outside the door, and only if it catches her off guard.
She loves car rides. Driving around with you running errands is one of her favourite activities apart from snuggling with her humans of course.
Lagatha enjoys a calm environment and calm dog friends. This girl is so easy and low maintenance at home. Has a double coat so rarely will be too hot or too cold.
She doesn't have separation anxiety and can stay outside for short periods of time, otherwise she is quite happy sitting on her indoor bed and staying there when asked.
Mainly Lagatha is indoors with access to a secure outdoor area for toileting. She sleeps inside, either on her mat/bed or on the couch. We haven't used the crate but I'm sure she wouldn't mind trying that too.
She knows stay and sit commands.
She has never been allowed off leash in public places as she still learning about a lot of things in our human world.
Coming from a background where she was used for breeding and starved Lagatha has a bit of food obsession which will get better with time but for now any human & dog food items should be kept away from her reach.
Lagatha had evidently never seen the outside world until she came into our care so we have introduced her to a lot of things very slowly and she has been amazing. From learning to be on leash and not to jump in excitement. She has taken everything in her stride and always eager to learn more. Really isn't interested in any toys or chewing stuff, unless it's a delicious bone.
She currently gets walked daily with some adventures/car rides/walk during the weekend. She is very relaxed inside the house. It's not all go go go with her - Lagatha knows how to switch off too. She happily shadows you around the house and gives a nice big sigh when you finally sit down to watch some telly. Fully house trained, she is a delightful companion who would suit someone who works part time as she doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety.
Yes she is dog friendly if the other dog is also friendly, calm and well mannered. Hasn't been tested around cats or pocket pets. She has been living with us and our 4 kids age 10yo and above she is fine with them and likes a pat from anyone. Younger kids have visited and she wasn't interested, always better if the kids are also dog savvy.
