Introducing Hippo!
Let me start off by saying that this boy is big, like BIG big. Don’t let his size scare you though, he’s a gentle giant, placid in nature and very calm despite his size.
At 3 years old, Hippo is looking for his forever home. Ideally his new home will have high secure fencing. Yard size isn’t too much of a factor we feel at this stage, as this snuggle bug would probably spend more time sun baking then doing, well, anything… However it is always encouraged that all dogs be exercised daily.
Ongoing training would be beneficial as well to ensure that his manners continue to flourish and reinforcement of basic commands.
Hippo we found doesn’t enjoy the company of other dogs. For this reason he is best suited to a home with no other animals where he can be the centre of attention.
He can be adopted into a home where his new family are first time dog owners, he is also open to meet children over the age of 5 years.
Hippo is affectionate, takes treats very gently and knows how to sit, shake and wait.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
