About Oliver
I am trying a new home to see if i like it. Oliver's story is very sad. Paws received a call from a very distressed lady to say that oliver was in need of help. He was adopted from a rescue website (not ours) just before christmas but, unfortunately for oliver, the people who adopted him and seemed very nice at the time were not nice at all and were going to dump oliver in the bush as they no longer wanted him and had apparently done this before to another dog! a paws foster carer in the area immediately went to pick oliver up as we were worried that. If left too long in the wrong hands. Oliver would be found dead in the bush or never found at all! once we had oliver in our possession he was taken to the vet and scanned for a microchip and then it was discovered that oliver was still microchipped to his original owner. His owner was contacted by our local council and he was mortified to hear what the people he had handed his little dog over to in good faith were going to do with little oliver if we had not stepped in. Oliver's owner and paws went into discussion and oliver was formally surrendered to us to be rehomed with as much care as possible this time. Oliver is a lovely boy and is in foster carer with hoagie another paws rescue dog and he and hoagie have a great relationship, enjoying each others company very much. Oliver would love a home with a nice family who have older children as he is a little afraid of tiny children and, as he does get along well with hoagie, we think it would be nice got him to have a doggy friend if his owners are working people. Oliver is house trained, walks well on a lead and is a house dog. After his terrible time his coat was very matted so had to be clipped off. It will be lovely once it has grown back and then will require regular grooming. Oliver will only be rehomed as a house dog to be a very important member of the family. Oliver comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, on heartworm prevention and with nsw local council lifetime registration for $350 and is not available for adoption outside nsw. He has also had a recent dental (teeth cleaned under anaesthetic).
