Hector

Hector’s personality:
Hector is an extremely handsome 9 month old purebred German Short-Haired Pointer. His intelligence and playfulness are clear when he sprints around the yard – tail wagging madly, with his nose to the ground! Hector absolutely loves to sniff and it is something that also provides a great level of stimulation for him during play or exercise time. This sweet boy prefers to have human company and would like to be close to you more often than not, but would also be quite happy to lay around and just watch you go about your day. Hector is very affectionate and loves to have his big floppy ears scratched – but to be honest, he is not fussy about where he is patted! Hector is playful with other doggies that can match his speed (which is no easy feat!), but is less interested in playtime with toys.

Hector’s ideal forever home:
Hector would suit any home where his new family are able to regularly exercise and spend time with him. Because of his young age, Hector will require further training to build on his current skills and help him grow into a well-balanced adult doggie - knowledge or previous experience with the GSP breed would be preferable, but not essential. Hector will require a home with a safe, well-fenced yard where he is able to stretch his long legs and play daily. Hector would also suit having an older, playful doggie as a companion to show him the ropes and spend time with him if his humans were away from home. This beautiful boy can’t wait to find his forever family and become the newest loyal, loving member.

Hector’s story:
Hector was surrendered to Sweet Pea Animal Rescue in May, due to a change of circumstances in his previous home. He has lived in the same home since he was a young puppy, but his owner’s daughter had to move in with her 2 doggies and unfortunately, they did not have the time for Hector anymore. This means that we are now privileged to take on the role of finding Hector’s perfect forever home - one where he can be himself and be loved more than anything.

He loves to go for walks, behaving well on a harness and lead and also enjoying his zoomies off-lead in the fenced yard.
