Smokey

Smokey’s personality:
Smokey is a 2 year old Kelpie X Koolie, who is searching for his perfect forever home! If you are looking for a true blue Aussie mate, then Smokey could be the one for you! He is inquisitive, intelligent, responsive and just wants nothing more than to please. He also absolutely loves his food, so ongoing training will be a breeze! Smokey is an active and energetic boy who loves to play in the company of humans, chasing his ball (probably his favourite game) and zooming around the large yard. Due to his playful nature, he can become quite excited around other doggies but still likes to make new friends when introduced slowly. Smokey is affectionate and such a sweet boy, always wanting to be close for cuddles and relax with you once he has exerted himself. He will make an absolutely wonderful companion for someone who is prepared to give him the time and attention he deserves.

Smokey’s ideal forever home:
Smokey would suit a home where he can be active and exercised regularly. He is a combination of two very intelligent breeds and will need a higher level of stimulation than other doggies – easily achieved by different enrichment toys and daily runs. Smokey especially loves puzzle feeders and chasing a range of toys during playtime – you will have hours of fun with this handsome boy. Smokey’s forever home will need to have a safe, good sized yard with room for him to run and play and he would best suit having an active family that is able to take him with them on adventures and daily outings. Smokey gets along well with other doggies, but does get jealous if someone they are getting more attention than him! If he was to have a canine companion, one that could show him the ropes and be patient with his playfulness would be best suited. Smokey will require ongoing and further training so that he can settle in to his new home and best doggie he can be.

Smokey’s story:
Smokey was surrendered to Sweet Pea Animal Rescue in April this year. Through no fault of his own, his previous owner was unable to keep him anymore and so he moved in with us to find his perfect forever home! Smokey has settled in well since his arrival, making friends with other rescue doggies and loving the daily attention from our wonderful volunteers - he certainly looks forward to playtime each morning and evening!

Smokey is a wonderful, sweet boy who needs a family that will understand his breed and give him the best life possible. He would suit an active home where he is able to have daily walks and playtime, followed by big snuggle on the couch at the end of the day.
