About JD
Introducing the gorgeous JD! JD is a Staffy x born 30th April 2021.
JD came into us as a stray who appeared to have been either shot in the head or hit in the head with an axe. He was raced in for emergency surgery & has made an amazing recovery. When he first came in he was too scared to even walk on the lead & needed to be carried everywhere. JD now walks happily on lead & is a major snuggle bug. He will literally stand on his back legs & wrap his arms around your waist.
JD tested well with other dogs, both male & female, however as a typical undesexed male he can get a little too "excited" when interacting with other dogs. While this may settle after desexing, his "overly friendly" actions may not be accepted by all dogs. If you have another dog at home we will need you to bring them to the facility for a meet & greet to ensure they get along before going home.
JD was quite scared of cats & pocket pets when we did his testing, so we believe he could be suitable to live with smaller animals at home. We would recommend slow & control introductions to ensure a safe & happy relationship between them.
JD has shown no signs of food aggression towards humans however he has shown signs of separation anxiety when left alone. While this may settle in a home environment, he may show signs of anxiety if left alone for long periods of time. Given JD's history with abuse & being dumped, we're not surprised he clings to the people he loves.
JD is such a loving young man who wants nothing more than a home he can call his own and not have to worry about losing another family.
If you think you could be that furever family for JD, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
JD’s adoption fee is $450, and this includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. JD is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
JD is currently located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
