About Loki - 1 Year Old Staffy X French Bulldog (Trial)
Hello Friends - my name is Loki!
I am a super happy chap - coming up to 2yrs old, desexed and up to date with vaccinations. Let me tell you a little about myself.
My foster mum tells me I’m an angel & can’t understand how I got myself into this predicament. All I know is that I’m very happy to be in the care of DRN, but I do look forward to having my own forever family. I love life and pretty much everything in it. I am an easy to get along with boy - I love all humans & am keen to meet as many as possible. I am also very social amongst dogs & do not misbehave around other dogs. If you are friendly, then I am friendly, if you are not friendly I just keep my distance.
My foster mum tells me I have an excellent outlook on life - I expect good things & then really appreciate them when they come my way! Mum reminds me that I’m a ‘big strong boy’…..which I tend to forget as I identify as a cream puff……or marshmallow. I apparently look tough…..but I’m nothing but a sunshine loving, peace keeping sweetheart by nature.
I am learning to walk nicely on a halter lead & mum tells me I’m an angel 80% of the time….but when my nose takes over from my eyes…..or my eyes take over from my brain - I can pull quite strongly. I apologise & I can only promise that I am committed to continued improvement.
I am not an escape artist ……I’m actually the opposite! If I could be with my people 24/7 that would suit me nicely. I am learning to be brave, but it’s taking time. I am ashamed to admit that if left by myself I can still feel some anxiety….and have been known to chew my bed🙈 I would be best suited to a home where I can be with someone most of the time until I have settled into the households routine. I enjoy & gain confidence from another dog’s company and can be left with another dog & not feel too anxious. With time and patience I could be a very content ‘only dog’. Mum tells me that if I could go to work with my person, even just to begin with, that would be great. Currently I have another older (& settled) dog to keep me company when my people leave…..and this works well.
I love children, am gentle with kids of all ages & and have shown no concerning behaviour…….I have been walked regularly by a 10yr old…but as previously mentioned I can be strong at times. I love my food, but have displayed no food guarding or aggression of any sort relating to food. I do get fed separately to my foster-bro but that’s because I apparently ‘eat like a Dyson vacuum cleaner’ & he needs a head start! Despite my mum reassuring me that we have enough food…..I do get tempted to eat food that is left on coffee tables and have been known to jump onto the table to ‘help clean up’. No one ever see’s me do it…….I’m a bit of a ninja 🥷 Mum feels that this will settle down with time and as my confidence grows.
I am 95% toilet trained, my foster mum takes me outside during the night as we didn’t have rules in my previous home & I’m needing to learn them now. I’ve never had an accident during the day & it’s been a while since I’ve slipped up overnight. I do love a ride in the car! I happily jump into the car and sit contentedly until we arrive at our destination. I am currently learning lots on new rules - but I am quick to learn & find peace from understanding what is expected of me. I absolutely want to be a good boy.
Mum thinks I would make a great family dog, or a fabulous companion for an older couple that I can hang with & go for strolls in the sun. I am energetic at times, but more inclined to sleep in the sun for long periods of the day. I am proving to be a good guard dog, but I only bark when I think something is wrong. Mum tells me with great pride that I am not a barker! She also tells me that the perfect home & family is out there waiting for me & that I deserve all the good in the world.
