About Bellei
This gorgeous scruffy girl goes by the name of Bellei and she’s ready to find her forever home.
Bellei came into care from a rural NSW facility a little over a month ago. She came in quite a timid little girl, but with the loving touch of her foster carer she’s starting to realise how amazing the world is. She is a very affectionate little girl and enjoys snuggling on the couch with her carers at the end of the day. She enjoys meeting people out and about and is enjoying exploring new places with her carers. Although she is well on the way to finding her feet, her new owners will need to ensure they continue to expose her to new places gently so she doesn’t become overwhelmed.
Bellei is currently in care with four other dogs of various sizes and a cat. She has been to the dog park a couple of times at quieter times to spend time with dogs the carer knows is friendly and she has been great with all of the dogs she’s interacted with. We feel she would be fine to live in a home as an only dog or with other dogs as long as someone is home more often than not to help settle her in. She will also be fine to live in a home with cats as long as they are used to dogs in the house. Due to her timid nature, she will not be suited to living with children and would prefer an adult only home.
While in foster care, Bellei has begun some basic training, such as sit and stay. She is toilet and crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night. She uses a dog door and loves nothing more than to lie in the sunshine on the deck. She travels well in the car and Bellei also loves going on walks and walks very well on a harness/lead. She can be a little bit of a barker - she will copy the other dogs if they chase possums or birds in the yard so is probably best suited to a home instead of a unit, but we won’t rule out units if someone is willing to work with her on this. She can get overwhelmed by loud or sudden noises so continuing her desensitisation to sound is imperative. She is currently overweight (currently around 5kg) so her new owners will need to ensure she is continued on her weight loss programme so she can live a long and healthy life. She has had all of her vet work done including a dental so she is in tip top shape otherwise.
We are looking for a loving, dog experienced home for Bellei where she'll be included in her family's daily activities. She needs to be allowed inside as she loves nothing more than to cuddle up closely to her humans on the sofa or chair. She will require someone home more often than not, at least while she settles in as we feel she will revert a little in a new environment so needs her people around until she feels at home. She doesn’t require a lot of exercise, but a nice daily walk with some fun adventures on the weekend will keep this girl happy.
Bellei will make the perfect addition to the perfect home. She's laid back, affectionate and loves to be near you. If you're interested in adopting Bellei, please fill out an adoption form on the Fetching Dogs website and please include plenty of detail about your experience with dogs and what sort of lifestyle you can provide Bellei.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
