Wickett is the smartest doggo I bet you’ll ever meet!
He’s a quick learner and in a very short amount of time with us has learnt how to sit on command, take treats gently and is learning to play fetch (correctly, by bringing the ball back to us!)
He’s a dog that wants to learn, so we are sure that this best boy will be able to add a whole lot more to his resume when it comes to tricks and commands. He’s highly treat motivated so ongoing training should be a breeze!
His ideal home will have high secure fencing, a medium to large sized yard so that he can stretch his legs, and an experienced owner who can provide him with ongoing training to develop his socialisation and command skills. Daily exercise is also a must for this active hound!
At this stage we feel that Wickett is best suited to a home where he is the only dog. This is not to say he will never be able to live with or meet other dogs, this is just to ensure that he receives ample training beforehand to have his manners finely tuned before introducing to any potential dog friends. He tends to get a bit excited when meeting new and existing dogs so we just want to ensure that he respects other dog’s boundaries.
He is charismatic, playful and has a sensitive side where he will settle, be calm, and snuggle with his soft toys.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
