NOTE: You are unable to meet Mikey until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Mikey in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.


What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may be okay as boisterous dogs scare me but I will also be happy on my own, as long as I’m snuggling up with my owner.
• I MUST be allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (no holes or gaps for me to squeeze through)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• I didn't show much interest in cats when meeting them at the shelter but a dog savy cat may be okay
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok

My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans once I trust them.
• Happy to hang out with other calm friendly dogs

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I do walk well on lead but I need help in feeling more confident
