About Harry
Introducing Harry! Harry is a Poodle x born on 16th February 2022.
Harry came in to us as an unmicrochipped stray and was fearful to the point of aggression. He was unable to be approached or moved without being on a catch pole. Dee worked tirelessly with his rehab and slowly earned his trust. While Harry has come to love the staff he is still very fearful of new people. He will need someone dedicated to him & continuing his rehab with slow & gentle introductions to new people and environments. Harry is definitely more trusting & open with women.
As Harry is so fearful we are recommending a home with no children.
Unfortunately Harry is scared of boisterous dogs, however he has started being very playful with female dogs. While he is still learning how to interact with them, his enthusiasm is through the roof! If you have a gentle, female dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Harry was also very scared of cats & pocket pets so we feel he would be best suited to a home with no smaller animals. While this may change once he's settled in a home environment & with continued socialisation, we don't feel he's ready for that quite yet. Please note he wasn't aggressive towards them, just very scared.
Harry has shown no signs of separation anxiety or food aggression since being at the facility.
Harry can be very timid when meeting new people, but once he settles with you he's a very affectionate & playful boy. Harry LOVES tennis balls & playing fetch is his favourite.
Harry's adoption fee is $600 and includes his desexing, lifetime registration & current vaccination. Harry is also regularly treated for flea and worms.

Harry is located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
