Looking for love on canine legs? The fantastic Ms Sascha loves life and socialising with people and pups alike. 25kg of aspiring lap dog, Sascha has never received a pat she didn’t like and revels in being near her people, receiving and giving adoration, and chilling out together. This said, Sascha understands the demands of modern life and is good at keeping herself entertained when family members are out for work or play. She is content and non-destructive when left indoors for a few hours, or with outdoor access for longer periods. Sascha is housetrained and friendly with residents and guests. She is untested with cats.
True to her pointer breed, Sascha is fascinated by birds and can get a bit distracted when out in the world. Fortunately, she has been trained to heel by her current people and, with further positive guidance, will be an A grade loose lead walker. Smart Sascha knows how to sit and wait for release before eating or playing in the park, and she has demonstrated excellent recall with her current owners. Sascha is polite with other dogs and knows how to adjust her energy and play style to others’ temperaments. She doesn’t love car rides but understands they are part of life. Like many of us, Sascha is a little worried by thunderstorms and fireworks and appreciates some reassurance from her people when life is unexpectedly noisy.
Sascha would love to find a home with or without another friendly dog, with people who are as ready to give and receive love as she is. If she is an only dog however she will not be suited to the full time out of house worker. Regular exercise, together time and further training will help solidify the bond with her new people and ensure this already delightful girl can be her very best canine self. If there’s a Sascha-shaped hole in your life, now is the time to fill it.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Please note that we do not take/make telephone calls prior to receiving an application.
Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
We look forward to receiving your application.
